14 Conclusions

On the basis of the analysis of environmental impacts and other factors presented here, the BLM has identified the proposed action of renewing the Federal Grant for an additional 30 years as its preferred alternative.

Since the pipeline, pump stations, Valdez Marine Terminal, and other related facilities are already constructed, continued operation of the TAPS should have minimal future environmental impacts. The most significant environmental impacts associated with the TAPS occurred when the pipeline was constructed.
